Statement

To borrow a simple statement from the dictum of Frank Stella —- “What you see is what you see.”

I am motivated in a pursuit to have the viewer experience an attraction to geometric abstraction, somewhat out of the norm. Creating and painting my subject matter is one thing—it’s yet another when my art is acquired and appointed to complement an individual’s personal style with which to make their own statement.

I am often asked where and how my early work and current geometric series Uncomplicated was developed. Drawn from notably distinctive modern artists, I am influenced by history’s adventurous greats: Larry Zox, Barnett Newman, Fritz Glarner, Burgoyne Diller, Frank Stella, Josef Albers, Kenneth Noland, to name a few from my core list.
